Hello! My name is Charles Marcus Sharp, and for twenty-eight years I have been working in the computer support industry, providing both Enterprise level services to companies, and personalized support to residential clients.

I received my basic electronics training in the U.S. Coast Guard at their training facility located on Governors Island, in New York City.

I graduated 3rd in my class, so there were only two people ahead of me when it came to picking duty stations. Luckily for me, there were two very desirable duty stations available, one in Hawaii, and one in Japan, so my first choice - somewhere I'd always wanted to go - was still available: the Loran Monitoring Station in Kodiak, Alaska. I was there for 1.5 years, then went back to school for further training (again at Governors Island), and finally spent the rest of my tour of duty at the Loran Monitoring station on the Japanese island of Minamitorishima, also known as 'Marcus Island'.

After my 4 year tour of duty with the Coast Guard, I returned to the Atlanta area, and in 1985, after enjoying about 3 years of free time, I went to work for a company called Inacomp Computer Centers Inc., where I got my first exposure to Personal Computers. The IBM PC/AT computer had just come out a few months earlier, so the industry was in the process of exploding.

I worked for Inacomp for over 7 years, until April of 1991 when they merged with ValCom Inc, and Inacomp was renamed to InaCom. Soon thereafter, as a result of the merger, they called for volunteers to be 'laid-off', and made it clear that cuts were coming regardless. So, I took advantage of the severance package they were offering and decided to strike out on my own. I've been an Independant Contractor ever since, contracting with other service providers (like Computer Connections in Dunwoody), contracting directly with Companies, and doing work for individuals in their home. For the last 13 years, my main client has been (and still is) Media Brokers International, Inc. (no, I didn't create their website), a small (60+ employees) but prosperous Media Buying Service located in Alpharetta, Georgia.
